I visited the Photo department in the Pollak building and took a look at some of the labs. I took my project class in here earlier in the semester, but it was all digital. I'm slightly more interested in wet lab photography as opposed to digital, although it's kind of a dying institution. I talked to my Professor that I had in my project class about the department and also an old teacher of mine who graduated from the program. After chatting, I picked up on the emphasis of story telling in photography, but also that it's taught from both a fine art and business oriented spectrum.

Craft & Material Studies:
We spoke with two seniors in the Textiles department, which really sold me to the department. This is now my second choice; the students seemed to be very enthusiastic about their work. They also emphasized the importance of selecting a major that you'll enjoy rather than over-analyzing job opportunities.
Painting & Printmaking
By far my number one major. I talked to a student who stressed to us how open the department was. I thought it was interesting that students are allowed to use a variety of mediums that don't necessarily have to be paint.
